We Want To Help You
High Fidelity Wraparound for Adoptive Families in California
Our goal is for your family to stay together, and for your child to stay home. We work toward it with a Child and Family Team, one Care Plan, and the ten principles California requires.
There is no cost to your family. The Adoption Assistance Program (AAP) funds this Wraparound program, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to your family, nothing is billed to you, and nothing varies by the services your child needs.
California High Fidelity Wraparound is authorized under SB 163, codified in Welfare and Institutions Code 18250 to 18258.
You are not doing this on your own
High Fidelity Wraparound puts a team around your family instead of sending your child somewhere else. Preventing that placement disruption is the whole point of Wraparound. Some of the team is ours. Some of it is yours.
Facilitator
Leads the team and keeps the Care Plan aligned with what your family said it wants.
Family Specialist
Works directly with your family between meetings, in your home and in your community.
Parent Partner
A parent who has been through this, sitting on your side of the table.
The People You Choose
A grandmother, a neighbor, a coach, a teacher. Anyone who matters to your child can be on the team.
What high fidelity actually means
California’s Wraparound Standards define high fidelity as adherence to four phases and the 10 principles of the National Wraparound Initiative, which the state adopted. Not marketing language, a state standard. Here is what each of the ten principles means for your family.
Family Voice and Choice
You and your family have a say in the decisions made. Your ideas, opinions and preferences guide the plan.

Strengths-Based
We focus on what your family does well, and use those strengths to solve challenges instead of only looking at problems.

How do I get started with LEAF Wraparound?
